Working People

Frontline workers keep companies and the economy alive and functioning. Yet too often they are underpaid and underappriciated, while corporations see sky high profits off of their hard work. Working people deserve not only a living wage, but a thriving wage. In the wealthiest country in the world, full-time workers should be doing better than "just getting by." Working people deserve a fair wag for their labor, a reasonable say in their working conditions, a safe work environment, and the right to unionize.

Education

Quality education is the foundation of future success. Everyone deserves quality education regardless of zip code or economic background. This includes K-12, preK, college, and vocational training. Investing in public education creates better communities, a more capable workforce, and more understanding and empathetic human beings.

Equality

I believe everyone deserves to have the same opportunities in life, be afforded the same protections under the law, and be treated with respect and dignity regardless of race, sex, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, mental or physical ability, class, zip code, immigration status, country of origin, or any other factor that some would use to divide us or hold us down.

The Environment

We only have one planet and we must protect and preserve it for future generations. We all want to breathe clean air and drink clean water. We must invest in environmentally-friendly policies including clean, renewable energies.

Voting Rights and Fair Elections

Democracy is a founding principle of this country. Democracy can only exist if everyone has fair access to the ballot, every vote counts equally, elections cannot be bought with dark money, and politicians are not allowed to pick and choose their voters.

Reproductive Rights

Everyone should have the right to decide if, when, how, and with whom they become a parent or bring a child into this world. Abortion ad contraceptives are healthcare and must be kept safe and legal

Families

Families are the backbone of society. But despite the frequent claims that we care about children and families, many families are struggling. We need to enact policies that actually help families such as paid family leave and paid sick days for all workers, investing in childcare and educations, healthcare for all, and living wages for all workers.

Healthcare for All

Healthcare is a right. Reproductive care is healthcare. Mental care is healthcare. Addiction recovery care is healthcare. Eye care is healthcare. Dental care is healthcare. Hearing care is healthcare. No one should be denied healthcare or encounter barriers to accessing healthcare.

Gun Violence

Gus are the leading cause of death in children and young people in the US. Gun violence (including homicide, suicide, and accidents) has now overtaken motor vehicle accidents as the leading cause of deaths in those aged 1- 24. Just as we have put safety measures in place to reduce the number of deaths caused by motor vehicle accidents, we must also enact safety measures to reduce gun violence. Such safety measures include universal background checks, waiting periods, training and licensing, gun registration, and keeping firearms out of the hands of domestic abusers.
